SI Group Has Announced a Project to Restructure Operations in France

BÉTHUNE, FRANCE - April 29, 2013 - SI Group, Inc. (Schenectady, NY), a global manufacturer of chemical intermediates, including phenolic resins for tires and rubber goods and adhesives for the footwear industry, has announced the need to implement a restructuring of its manufacturing operations in France. SI Group plans to cease production at its Ribécourt site in December 2013 and to concentrate activities at its Béthune site.

With this restructuring project, SI Group responds to the structural changes of its main customer industries in Europe. In recent decades, the footwear industry has been relocated to Asia, while tire manufacturers have recently reduced production in Europe. By restructuring, SI Group strengthens the production of resins in Europe.

SI Group, as a socially responsible company, will make efforts to assist employees affected by the closure of Ribécourt. SI Group has announced its intentions today to maximize the opportunities of internal and external redeployment for the 37 employees who work on the Ribécourt site.

Throughout the restructuring period and beyond, SI Group will continue to fully meet the needs of its customers and suppliers in Europe and worldwide
