Donation to Support Communities Impacted by Severe Weather
SCHENECTADY, NY – November 5, 2015 – SI Group, a leading global developer and manufacturer of chemical intermediates, specialty resins, and solutions, with operations in Orangeburg, South Carolina, has donated $5,000 to Harvest Hope Food Bank. The contribution supports individuals in need, following the severe weather impacting the region last month.
“We’ve distributed over 1.7 million meals to flood victims due to partnerships like the one with SI Group,” said Denise Holland, Chief Executive Officer at Harvest Hope Food Bank. “The community need is onoing. As families struggle to recover from the devastation, donations like these ensure that we have the resources to keep people healthy.”
The SI Group Orangeburg facility, which was acquired from Albemarle Corporation in 2014, employs over 300 people.
“This is our home and our community,” said Jeff Prickett, Director of Southeast Operations at SI Group. “Our hope is that this donation will provide food security for our neighbors, as we all work together to rebuild and repair.”
