The Role: As the Account Manager – Oilfield Solutions, reporting to the Sales Director - Industrial Solutions, South America, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing new and existing customer relationships and profitability in order to achieve sales targets, long-term customer retention, sustainable business and grow market share.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Development Strategy
- Identify new customers and opportunities for SI Group’s Oilfield offering within focused geography.
- Navigate prospects’ organization to establish relationships, present SI Group’s offering, understand client’s needs and potential fits for SI Group portfolio.
- Communicate opportunity pipeline to Oilfield leadership with realistic forecast, financials, and timing targets.
- Convert prospects into customers, transitioning them into managed portfolio.
- Understand the applicable markets and identify and promote realistic growth opportunities for existing and new products.
- Collaborate with other business unit functions to provide insights into market needs, technology gaps, product developments and market sizing.
- Contribute as requested to strategic business unit discussions for the top customers or potential customers and execute accordingly.
- Documenting customer interactions through call reports in CRM (SalesForce) and preparing or contributing to other business or technical reports as needed.
- Document customer interactions through technical reports and helping to create case histories and white papers
Customer/Sales Management
- Sell SI Group product portfolio and capabilities to new and existing customers to help achieve company revenue and profitability objectives.
- Manage the customer relationship through visits, technical and commercial presentations, focused sales efforts, business reviews and price negotiations.
- Build customer account and execution plans, including relationship mapping, calculation of customer-specific economics, facilitation of executive interaction, and specific customer messaging.
- Regularly meet with customers to discuss direction of the business and market, corporate goals, customer business drivers, technology needs, and other topics as necessary.
- Support cross-regional sales efforts, including working closely with the global Oilfield Solutions strategic team and other account managers and alignment with the global strategy.
- Build extensive network with customers across technical, procurement and operations personnel to support existing business and uncover new opportunities.
- Work as needed to resolve any customer technical issues and complaints.
- Set and achieve the annual sales plan in conjunction with the Sales Director.
- Manage sales contracts (purchase & supply agreements) where appropriate by negotiating, amending or updating information, as necessary. Proactively review contracts on a regular basis to ensure customer requirements are met and SI Group is achieving maximum value.
- Manage price changes to maintain/improve profitability that achieves Company margin and profit expectations for current, new, and modified products.
- Review the product portfolio on a regular basis with the sales leadership and marketing to ensure the business is in position to meet sales goals and objectives, and maximize the utilization of its resources to execute the global market strategy.
- Provide a projected volume and financial forecast of sales by customer and product on a monthly basis.
Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
- Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business, Chemistry or Chemical or Petroleum Engineering, or demonstrated equivalency
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the oilfield industry, preferred upstream commercial experience with direct customer management and new business development for chemical sales
- Strong analytical, strategic, organizational, reporting, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in an international and multifunctional team environment
- Proven leadership and teamwork qualities
- Successful track record of closing sales and managing accounts
- Experience with CRM tools, preferably SalesForce
- Fluency in Portuguese and English. Spanish proficiency preferred.
